Music Monday 9: Memory Lane

August 9, 2010 Leave a comment

Good day Internet!! It is a Monday morning, and that means…another Music Monday post. You may be wondering why there was no Music Monday post last week. Well, I was sorta busy last Monday morning. Busy day at work. I kinda forgot and I’m not 100% that this Music Monday idea of mine is being enjoyed by people….

But then I decided, I’m sure one person enjoys it, and if one person enjoys it, that’s enough for me.

Today is just a random collection of music that have specific memories for me.

“Learn From Yesterday, Live For Today, Dream For Tomorrow…but most importantly…Be Your Dreams!”

Thanks for visiting, reading, watching and listening. Don’t forget to rate, “like” and/or comment.

Music Monday 8: At the Movies

July 26, 2010 Leave a comment

Whats up Internet?! :D Another Monday another entry in Music Monday! Today I thought…let’s do movie music. As you may have been able to tell, I’m not much a stickler for somethings, so I’m not gonna separate this into like..”Scores” and “Soundtracks” just…music from movies. Also, it’s the music I’m talking about, not the movie. So even though the movie may suck, the music is good…and don’t worry, no Star Wars…

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading…watching, whatever. As always, leave a comment, let me know some of your favourite movie music and what you think of my picks. Twitter to the right and check out the rest of my blog…there’s some good stuff here.

Happy Monday Internets! Have a good weekend? Ready for another Music Monday?!

I did an 80’s music post for the first music Monday, and there is sooo much great music from the 80’s I thought, lets do some more. So without further ado, or gilding the lily, I present to you: The 80’s Part 2

This, this video is upsetting…but good song.

another…upsetting video, more because of the dance moves. I got in trouble for not including this in the first 80’s post, so here it is.

Music Monday 6: On a Tuesday?!

July 13, 2010 Leave a comment

So, here we are Internets, its Tuesday, and I didn’t do a Music Monday post. Do any of you care? I hope 1 or 2 of you do. If not, well fuck you too then. LOL

So Today is just….whatever music. No rhyme or reason as to the selections. Just music that I am currently listening to repeatedly.

This video is epic, so even though its the censored version of the song, it’s awesome.

Till next week…sorry. I’ll get my shit together for Music Monday for next week. Peace!

Music Monday 5: Top 40

Happy Monday Internet.

There is a Radio Station in town and I follow one of the DJ’s for it on Twitter, they ask very nicely for people to make the switch, and he eventually made his way to me. I am an alt rock fan right now, but, I do love music, all music, so I thought, ‘Ok, I’ll give it a try’ and promised him this morning, I would listen. I did. I heard a couple of songs twice in 3 hours and so. much. autotune. I was excited that Eminem was on their playlist, didn’t play it though.

Anyway, I thought I’d play a couple of the tracks I heard today that apparently are what is popular these days on the Pop Charts.

Apparently Katy Perry doesnt want people to embed her videos…so if you really want to go here too see it.

Music Monday 4: The Internal Battle

June 28, 2010 Leave a comment

Hello Internet.

I actually forgot about this Music Monday thing today; something else was going on this morning on that totally distracted me from remembering. If I’m being honest with you, I feel really conflicted and…sad, I guess. I wear my heart on my sleeve and sometimes it gets stabbed, punched or shot. So I end up arguing with myself, logic vs emotions. Today, just some awesome, but maybe…depressing tunes.

the Uploader of the actual vid for this compressed it all to hell so it sounded terrible.

Star Wars in Concert

June 27, 2010 1 comment

It’s Sunday….however, as much as I’d like to think so Internet, I am not God, nor even a god so I don’t get to rest today. No, must do the lawn…I have a mini rainforest going on in my backyard…literally. Stop it! Not like that….you people really are sick you know that. <3

Anyway Internets, I went to Star Wars in Concert last night. Was a phenomenal show! Loved it. For those who are like…wtf is Star Wars, get off my blog now! Seriously…click the red fucking x. Ok, now that THEY are gone *eye roll* *ahem*

Star Wars in Concert is basically the Star Wars Symphony Orchestra playing the music from Star Wars with Anthony Daniels (C3-P0) live, narrating. He is an amazing story-teller. Great stage presence, and excellent, performing. So good. :)

The story was the same as always. They started the story with Episode I Phantom Menace and went right through to the end of Jedi. It was a really interesting re-telling of the story. The focus was on the relationships and characters. Also it really stressed what Star Wars is really about. The main story. It’s about Anakin. The rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. The music, was beautiful, and exciting, and humorous and suspenseful. (Too many “ands” not enough comma’s I know).

The Main Theme sent chills through me. Imperial March (“Vader’s Theme”) was amazing. The combat music. Great.

Duel of the Fates the music when Qwi-Gon and Obi-Wan fight Darth Maul in Phantom Menace, is my second favourite piece after the Main Theme. Hearing it live, and seeing the action sequences from the prequels sent chills through me again. I loved it. So much. It was epic.

If you were like…hmmm…maybe I want to go and didn’t. If it comes back *fingers crossed* GO! You will love it. Especially if you are a fan of Star Wars.

Also, as my Wife @sarahmedic, my buddy @iceshade and another friend of mine who is NOT on twitter…Kid Lotus…im lookn at you bitch, seeing the Star Wars spoofs from Family Guy and Robot Chicken, can at times, make you laugh during the show. We all really enjoyed it.

Music Monday 3 – Obsessions

Happy Monday Inernets! I took today off so I am typing this to you from my house….awe yeah ;). It is once again, time for Music Monday. I know these dont really count as me writing, but my life is kinda dull….see, my life is like a Nickelback song, on the surface it looks fun and entertaining but once you really get to look at it…it’s awful. …… no im kidding, my life is awesome, I’m just busy.  I will think of awesome stuff to write about soon, I’m sure. Till then here are some songs that I am currently obsessed with. I listen to them over and over and over. (Remember I post for the music, not the video)

Lo Fidelity All-stars – Battle Flag

KO – Capable

City and Colour – Comin Home

Charlie Clouser – The Final Test (name the movie heh heh)

These last two will be an acquired taste I believe, I really like them and were my first (aside from NIN) introduction into EBM (electronic body music), and I still LOVE them.

:wumpscut: – Christfuck

:wumpscut: – Wreath of Barbs

so Intetnet, what do you think? These are the songs I listen to the most, almost daily.  What songs are you currently obsessed with, new ones or just staples, that you HAVE to hear like once a week or something. Let me know in the comments. Don’t forget the twitter is over there in the side bar.

Lady Gaga Has Machine Gun Nipples?!

June 8, 2010 2 comments

Hello Internet! Guess what? Lady Gaga released a new video for her song Alejandro (I think it kinda sounds like The Sign by Ace Of Base in parts). Interesting video – there are machine gun nipples! you’ll see.

Also go here to see a nice big version, just don’t forget to come back here. :)

Interesting hey? I thought so. I don’t really care about the song very much, but the video is artsy and has some interesting imagery. I’ll say it again, machine gun nipples. There are a lot of other things going on in this video…what did you see?

I didn’t like it as much as Telephone. I like the song and the video had an interesting story to it.

Something that occurred to me though was. Lady Gaga is very much like Cher. Actually. She is a mix of Cher and Madonna. Think about it. She has outrageous costumes, as did Cher in her day. Her songs are all dancey pop tunes, like Cher’s.  I mean this with the utmost respect, gay men LOVE her, from what I can tell, as they did with Cher.

I also find that Lady Gaga is not stupid. She is a woman and uses her body very well. Sex sells and there’s enough implied nudity and what not to get me interested. Very Madonna.

All in all. I am going to admit, I am a fan of all 3 of these ladies. They are talented, shrewd, intelligent business women.

What Britney and Christina wanted to be but can never be.

oh…here’s that Ace of Base song…tell me you don’t hear the similarities:

What do you think? Is Gaga good bad? Like Cher and Madonna…am I way off? Tell me what you think!
